Founded in 2011, Black Heart Letterpress creates unique printed materials with antique printing presses. Our primary tool is a 1,500 lb, 1920′s-era Chandler & Price 10 x 15 New Series letterpress. Rounding out the arsenal are a Kelsey Excelsior 5×8 Model N, also from the 20′s, and a rare Showcard Model B-Special which spent the bulk of its working years in a Sears department store in California.

We use vintage wood and metal movable type along with custom made photopolymer plates to create the images we print.
